I started knitting doll clothes for my daughter's American Girl about a year ago. Since then, my knitting skills have excelled greatly.
Prior to that I learned many knitting techniques simply by making scarfs and dishcloths. I have befriended an online doll knitting friend from Norway, and she told me about Malfrid's beautiful doll patterns and that they are translated into English. Every pattern that is realeased quickly becomes my favorite.
My recent knit, 0023 Kirsten, was done as a knit along with some cyber friends through a popular online knitting community. I have never done stranded knitting or steeked in sleeves before now. It is not bad at all and I can't wait to do more of Malfrid's patterns!
I am currently looking for yarn to make two more of Malfrid's beautiful creations. My daughter loves the fact that I knit such special clothes for her beloved Chrissa, and I love to show my knitting to my friends :)
I may even need to consider getting an American Girl of my own, so that I can put Malfrid's patterns on display. Knitting these amazing patterns and dressing the doll in such lovely clothes makes me feel like a little girl again.
