Little Baby Clothes
I used #5, Little Baby Clothes, to make a Christening set for a baby doll that I am dressing for a charity auction. This is one of two baby dolls that will be listed together as a boy & girl set of twins. I previously made a gown outfit for the girl and this special pattern has become the boy's Christening clothes. My doll is chubbier and shorter than Baby Born, so adaptations to the pattern were necessary for fit. I chose to make the body or onesie long sleeved and legged, because my doll has a cloth body which I wanted to cover that extends just below it's elbows and knees. I left the collar off since this doll, like a newborn really doesn't have a neck. The changes were quite easily made and I am very happy with how special these clothes seem because of the wonderful details incorporated in this pattern. The squares of stockinette stitch in the garter stitch bonnet, sweater, and booties, the crocheted picot edging, and the precious pockets on the sweater all show Malfrid's remarkable attention to detail which make her patterns so wonderful.
