Butter and Eggs Lilly

This outfit was made as part of a knit along on Ravelry. As I always do when knitting, I started to think about the many things the colors remind me of. This time the two shades of yellow made me think not only of real butter and eggs, but of a weed, linaria vulgaris, a snapdragon type plant that grew freely in the barnyard of my grandparents' farm. As many children do, my cousins and I used to make the blossoms "talk" by pinching the sides of the flowers. It's a happy memory of a time past which I think compliments this nostalgic design of a fashion from an earlier time.

Lovely clothes in two yellow colours! The flowers you mention is beautiful with these 2 yellow colours. Yellow remains me of a lovely, warm springtime!
