As autumn has come now I thought I should knit this next garment in rust, a color that fit very well to the autumn time. This time I have used rust and grey together with some white stripes. These white stripes worked out very well and looked nice on these clothes. |
Autumn-dress
Cast on 160 sts in rust and knit 3 rows ga. Continue knitting in the round. Change to white and knit 2 rows st st. Change to grey and knit 1 row, p 1 row = 1
ridge on the right side. Change to rust
and knit 3 rows st st before knitting pattern. (See diagram) Continue knitting 3 rows st st in rust. Change to grey and knit 1 row, purl 1 row = 1
ridge on the right side. Change to white
and knit 2 rows st st.
Change to rust and knit 1 row, purl 1 row = 1 ridge on
the right side. Continue knitting st st
until work measures 15 cm. On next row
decrease for the armholes like this. Begin at one side: Cast off 3 sts, k74,
cast off 6 sts, k74, cast off 3 sts. Continue knitting front and back
separately.
Front: Purl next row. Continue knitting
2 rows st st and at the same time decrease 1 sts at each side = 72 sts on
row. Continue knitting 2 rows st st
without decreases. On next row do the
following decreases: K3, k2tog until 3 sts are left on row, k3 = 39 sts on
row. Continue knitting st st until the
yoke measures 4 cm. On next row cast off
the 15 center sts and knit each side separately. Continue decreasing 1,1,1 sts along the
neckline every second row before knitting 3 rows st st and putting shoulder sts
onto a cable ndl
Back: Knit in the same way as front until decreased
for the yoke. Purl 1 row. Then divide work and knit each side
separately to get an opening along the center of the back. Continue knitting st
st and 3 sts garter sts over the 19 first sts on row until the yoke measures
4,5 cm. On next row from the WS cast off
the neckline like this. Cast off 7,1,1 every second row. When work measures the same as front put
shoulder sts front and back against each other with the WS out and knit them ...

When it was finished, I thought a little bow in rust could be nice above the split back. Look at the picture and see what you think about that? As the jacket has rust stripes I knitted this bow in rust.
