American Girl doll Sweater Pattern

great winter outfit
for the doll 

Model 0140D CECIL - Sweater, Pants, Cap, Socks and Backsack

I have been very busy lately, therefore, this time I have picked out a pattern from my second book. 

This pattern is a typical Norwegian sport garment.  The idea for these clothes I got years ago when I travelled with friends in ...

 ... the Norwegian mountains.  We stopped at a shop selling handmade Norwegian clothes and then I saw a sweater giving me this idea.  The sweater is knitted in traditional colours, grey and blue.  However, I have knitted some ...

 ... borders for this garment in strong colours like red and green.  Finished knitting it I enjoyed this use of colours.  

After knitting the sweater, I knitted short-legged pants (knickers).  Round the legs, I used the same border in green and red.

The hat I knitted like a “long” hat as we call here in Norway “a Santa Claus” hat.  In addition, the hat has this border in red and green.  Moreover, the tassel is as well is made in these colours. (See picture)

At last, I knitted a pair of long legged sock, knitted in the same pattern as the pattern for the sweater to complete these clothes.

Should my doll Cecil want to go for a walk in the mountains I knitted him a green rucksack. This rucksack can be knitted in any of these four colours.
