Model 0134D KAREN - Skirt, Pant, Jacket, Sweater, Hat and Shoes
(This pattern fits 17" - 18" dolls like American Girl doll, Baby born and Alexander doll)
This pattern I have called Karen. Karen was a lovely old lady visiting my mom from time to time when I was a little girl. Karen had a mild and warm personality. She always talked in a warm quiet voice. It was always nice when she come. She filled the room with a good atmosphere and it gives me good memories back to my childhood.
This time I wanted to knit ...
... some everyday clothes in burgundy and pink for my doll and then I thought. “Why not call this pattern for Karen?” The skirt is burgundy and pink and have a row of roses between. Round the waist, I knitted a rib with a row of eyelets. Through the eyelets, I pulled a chord in burg under. Then I knitted a pink short-sleeved sweater with edges in burg under and my doll Karen had a lovely “dress” to wear.
As I had some yarn left in these colors, I knitted a hat with a pattern and a crocheted flower sewed to the top of it.
Still having some yarn left in burg under I knitted my doll Karen a pair of lovely warm shoes. They are ...
... bound together with a chord along the front, tied with a chord. It is made of one thread burgundy and one thread beige. Beige is the color I choose for the pants and sweater as belongings.
The pants I knitted in rib. I knitted it from the top and tied it round the waist. Good and warm for my doll Karen.
I looked at my doll ...
... and thought she needed a sweater in beige to make the garment complete. This sweater is short and nice with buttoned cuffs. At each side, it is buttoned as well. The pattern used for the edges together with garter stitch was nice I think. This pattern I also used for the neckband.
I also welcome you to become friend on my new Facebook page. On Facebook, I will show more about the ideas and patterns that come in the future. Målfrid
I think old Karen would have smiled if she knew that I had her on my mind and named these clothes after her! I loved that woman!
I hope you too will like the clothes and enjoy knitting them.
