Model 0126D VANESSA - Jacket, Suit, Cap, Scarf, and Socks
(This pattern fits 17" - 18" dolls like American Girl doll, Baby born and Alexander doll)
This garment started with me thinking off what to knit of two turquoise bundles of yarn I had here. I wondered what I could knit in this color and decided to knit a jacket with a hood for outdoor use. I had looked at this little pattern with plaits, and thought I should try it, here you see the result. Not bad, I thought when the jacket was finished. Lovely and warm for my little doll Vanessa.
As I thought this jacket was a little rough I bought small, buttons specially made for sweaters and used them for this jacket. They fitted well.
The cap ...
... I knitted in stripes. When I had finished the cap, I knitted a bow in turquoise and sewed it to the top of the cap. I liked that.
Of course, we need socks as belongings to clothes like this. This time I knitted the socks with bended edges in stripes ...
... to fit with the jacket and the stripes on the cap.
Finished so far I decided to knit the doll a nice suit in an off-white/ light grey color. I have knitted nice plaits along the outside of the legs and along the center of the arms. I have also knitted two small squares ...
... at each side of the front of the dress. They can remain about small pockets. The suit has raglan decreases and finished with small flower buttons along the opening front the doll looked lovely in this dress.
I hope you too will enjoy knitting these clothes for your doll!
